Get Creative with Marinara Sauce!

The humble jar of marinara sauce sitting in your pantry has all sorts of possibilities! As we are all abiding by the stay at home orders and making every meal at home, we could all use some creative ideas for simple meals. Enjoy!

1) Easy Beef Chili from JoCo Eats. Just six ingredients and dinner is ready in less than 30 minutes.

2) The usual standby, spaghetti pasta with marinara sauce! Top with those packets of parmesan cheese that have been cluttering up the drawer of your fridge.

3) Pizza-dillas: Make quesadillas using cheese and tortillas. Add a sprinkling of Italian seasoning to the cheese before heating. Serve with warm marinara sauce on the side for dipping.

4) ”Anything Can Be Pizza” Pizza: Use hamburger, hot dog, tortillas or naan bread as the crust to create your own pizzas. If you have kids, invite them to help you top with bits of ingredients you find, fully customizable! Bake at 425 F until cheese is bubbly and crust is toasted. Topping ideas: cheese, sliced mushrooms, browned ground beef or sausage, pepperoni, spinach, green peppers, olives, ham & pineapple…

Make the other half of your plate veggies. Seize the day–now is the time to use the bag of salad in your fridge before it goes bad!
