Walk With Ease is the Arthritis Foundation’s program that is proven to reduce the pain of arthritis and improve your overall health.
No matter if you need relief from arthritis pain or just want to be active, the six week Walk With Ease program can teach you how to safely make physical activity part of your everyday life.
Studies by the Thurston Arthritis Research Center and the Institute on Aging of the University of North Carolina show that Walk With Ease is proven to:

- Increase balance, strength and walking pace
- Build confidence in your ability to be physically active

Comprehensive studies demonstrate that Walk With Ease reduces pain, increases balance and strength and improves your overall health. The program will help motivate you to get in great shape and allow you to walk safely and comfortably.
Class Format
Trained group exercise leaders begin each session with a pre-walk discussion covering a specified topic related to exercise and arthritis, followed by a 10- to 40-minute walk that includes a warm-up and a cool-down.

Join a Community Class
Lenexa Parks & Recreation and Johnson County Parks and Recreation District (JCPRD) are offering the program in August at the Lenexa Community Center. Classes begin Tuesday, August 24th. The class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30-2:30 pm. The classes are FREE and open to all. To register, call JCPRD at 913-826-2830.
